My toddler son LOVES cars, trains, trucks…pretty much anything that moves. Recently, I was looking around the house for something fun to do with the little man and stumbled across some washable kid’s paint. Then I turned to good ol’ Pinterest for some painting projects for kids. Then voila! I found an awesome and easy idea that incorporated his love for trucks and the paint I had just discovered.
Toy Truck Painting:
What you will need:
– Washable non-toxic kid’s paint (ours was Crayola paint from Target)
– Paper/Cardboard (or you can use anything really that you don’t mind your kiddo turning into a work of art)
– Plate to put the paint on
-Blanket (I used a blanket we got from an Oakland A’s game. I figured the hubby wouldn’t mind since the paint is washable. It washed off without a problem.)
– Several different sizes of toy trucks and cars. Let your kid participate in this part by picking them out.
Super easy prep. Took me about 2 mins.
You may need to show your child a few times what to do and encourage them to run their trucks through the paint on the plate. Once my son saw I was having fun with it he got really excited to try it himself.
Then he decided that putting his hand in the paint would be a squishy fun idea.
I love this face. It’s his “Mom, my hands are dirty, get this off me now!” face. haha I was the same way when I was a kid.
We did our painting outside in the backyard which was perfect because things got a little messier than expected but that was totally fine since we were outside by a water hose. I also had him wear some swim trunks since I knew that I would be hosing him off afterward. :)
